Hey dude! I heart 'you'r talent hahahahah

Michael Johnson, Manchester City

Squad no: 6
Date of birth: 24/02/1988
Place of Birth: Urmston, Manchester
Position: Midfielder
Height (ft): 6.00
Weight (st): 12.07

Michael is a creative midfield player who likes to run with the ball, as well as being extremely strong in the tackle.

Captain of the FA Youth Cup runners-up team in the absence of Micah Richards during the 2005/06 season, Michael scored a captain’s goal, and ultimately the winner in the 3-2 semi-final away leg at St James' Park against Newcastle United.

At 18, Johnson became the 20th Academy Graduate to progress from Platt Lane to the City first team, making his debut away at Wigan on October 21, 2006.

Michael had a better outing with his second City start, as he put in an impressive performance in the vital 2-0 away win at Middlesbrough in March 2007. He continued to impress and looked like he had been playing in the Premier League for years, almost capping his form with what would have been an equaliser from a header at White Hart Lane on the last day of the season.

As well as playing twice for the England Under 19 side, Michael was in the provisional squad for the Under 21s but did not make the final cut for the European Championships.

The 2007/08 season started as the previous one had ended with Johnson in the City line-up, despite a new Manager taking the helm and new players joining the Club, the youngster's determination to hold down a place was rewarded with his first City goal in the second game of the season against Derby.

He followed that with a string of assured performances, including another goal against Aston Villa which like the one against Derby was the decisive one in another win for the Blues.

His season was disrupted by a nagging abdominal injury that eventually forced him to miss around two months during the middle of the campaign. He showed no ill-effects when he returned, straight away showing the form that he had been in earlier in the season. Yeay!
